Notes:

This coin, not intended for circulation, was struck to commemorate the staging of the 12th Commonwealth Games in Brisbane. The reserse design features the XII Commonwealth Games symbol surrounded by figures representing some of the sports played - Table Tennis, Badminton, Athletics, Archery, Australian Rules Football, Wrestling, Swimming, Boxing, Cycling, Weightlifting, Lawn Bowls and Shooting.

The proof version was encapsulated and distributed in a red hinged lid presentation case while the uncirculated, speciman coin was released unsealed in a small red plastic satchel.
