Edward VII 1902 Five & Two Pounds |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Issued to mark the coronation of King Edward VII, these coins are similar in design to the Edward VII sovereign issues (with the abbreviation 'D: G:' on the obverse expanded to 'DEI GRA:'). See the Gold Rush article for more information.
Notes: Accurate valuation of these pieces is extremely difficult due to their unavailability in the market place. Their tiny mintages make them extremely rare and valuable. Both coins have an 'S' mintmark (Sydney Mint) on the reverse above the date.
