1899-1999 Perth Mint Sovereign Collection

As a heritage project, the Perth Mint undertook a world-wide search over a two-year period for Perth minted gold sovereigns in exceptional condition. The result was the compilation of 70 complete 33-Sovereign sets.

The 'P' mintmarked sovereigns included in the set are:

George V - Large Head1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1920, 1921, 1922, 1923, 1924, 1925, 1926, 1927, 1928
George V - Small Head1929, 1930, 1931
Centenary Sovereign1999 Proof Bi-Metal

Each set is presented in an early 20th century styled timber case as the definitive Perth Mint sovereign collection. Each set also features a Proof Bi-Metal Centenary Sovereign, inlaid on the inside of the case lid.

The sets were not released generally, but were made available only by invitation to selected collectors and institutions. Set number one was retained by the Perth Mint for public display.
