Valuation : Cast Counterfeit 1813 N.S.W. Holey Dollar 1756 Ferdinand VI Mexico Mint Host
Notes:
This piece can be identified as a forgery by the base silver metal used in the casting. The matrix date of 1756 is also earlier than any known surviving, bona-fide holey dollar. In attempting to replicate the typical dished shape imparted by the the original drop-hammer method of manufacture, the piece has been slightly bent in one
axix, imparting a curved rather than a dished effect.
