| A-76 | Obverse: Portrait of Coombes with SAMUEL COOMBES above and MANUFACTURING CLOTHIER below, round within beaded rim. QUEEN ST curved in left field and AUCKLAND curved in right. A in AUCKLAND is between M and B in COOMBES. Small tuft of hair at top of head and button on vest is above R in MANUFACTURING. Reverse: TAILOR, OUTFITTER QUEEN STREET in 2 curved lines above AUCKLAND S. COOMBES ALBERT STREET in 3 straight lines in center with GRAHAM TOWN GENTLEMEN'S MERCER in 2 curved lines below, all within indented rim. |
