Notes:

The production techniques used by Matthew Boulton to produce the two ounce and one ounce 'Cartwheel' coinage were not used to produce farthings for circulation. However, a number of pattern cartwheel farthings were struck. The patterns contain exactly half an ounce (avoirdupois) of copper, proportionate in weight and size with the larger circulation coins, in line with Boulton's thoughts on the intrinsic value of copper coinage.

Quarter Ounce copper coins were given a value of halfpence by Governor King throughout the infant colony of New South Wales, in his proclamation of 1800.
