This proof coin was encapsulated and distributed in a special plush presentation booklet housed inside a slimline presentation box. It is the last in a series of six ten dollar coins issued between 1989 and 1994 displaying prominent Birds of Australia.

At the NAA Coin Fair held in Melbourne during July 1994, a limited edition issue of 1,000 standard wedge tailed eagle proof coins were sold, each accompanied by a specially numbered certificate. Valuation details of this coin fair issue are shown in the following table:
