Notes:

This coin was Australian's first piedfort (double thickness) issue. It was encapsulated and distributed in a special cylindrical presentation case housed inside a high presentation box. It is the first in a series of six piedfort ten dollar coins issued between 1989 and 1994 displaying prominent Birds of Australia.

At the International Coin Fair held in Melbourne during August 1989, a limited edition issue of 4,000 coins were sold, each accompanied by a specially numbered certificate. Valuation details of this coin fair piedfort issue are shown in the following table:
