2001 Centenary of Federation Holey Dollar
& Medal Dump State Tribute Series

 


As part of Centenary of Federation celebrations, the Perth Mint released a colour holey dollar and medal dump pair at each of the six ANDA coin shows held throughout 2001. In each state of issue, that State's badge was presented in colour on the reverse of the outer holey dollar, with the state's floral emblem in full-colour on the reverse of the medal dump.


The six pairs forming the set are:

  • Coloured New South Wales Badge Holey Dollar & Waratah Medal Dump;
  • Coloured Queensland Badge Holey Dollar & Cooktown Orchid Medal Dump;
  • Coloured South Australian Badge Holey Dollar & Sturt's Desert Pea Medal Dump;
  • Coloured Tasmanian Badge Holey Dollar & Tasmanian Blue Gum Medal Dump;
  • Coloured Victorian Badge Holey Dollar & Common Heath Medal Dump; and
  • Coloured Western Australian Badge Holey Dollar & Kangaroo Paw Medal Dump;

    Notes:

    Limited to an issue of 1,500 full sets, the six pairs were housed, encapsulated, in a distinctively shaped blue, hinged-lid box coloured to represent a waving Australian Flag. A certificate of authenticity accompanies the set.
