1999-2001 Millennium $10 Coin Series

Issued over 3 years from 1999 to 2001, the Millennium Coin Series was released by the Canberra Mint to celebrate the end of one millennium and the commencement of the next. Each of the three $10 coins in the series had a mintage of 20,000, making this the maximum number of possible sets. A special black leatherette presentation case was issued separately at a cost of $25 to house the coins within their original outer boxes.

The coins in the set are:

  • 1999 $10 - The Past,
  • 2000 $10 - The Present, and
  • 2001 $10 - The Future.

    Notes:

The appeal of the three coins in this set has seen huge collector interest around the world. Prices, particularly on the internet, have reached what appear to be unsustainable levels for numismatic items with an issue of 20,000.
