1996 - 1998 Australian Kookaburra $1 Silver Bullion
EUROPEAN PRIVY MARK COLLECTION

 


The European Privy Mark Collection, consisting of 15 one ounce bullion silver kookaburra $1 coins, was released by the Perth Mint over three years between 1996 and 1998. Each coin in the collection commemorates one of the 15 countries which form the European Union.

The reverse design and country privy mark of the coins released depict:

  • 1996 Kookaburra in Flight - Germany - Brandenburg Gate,
  • 1996 Kookaburra in Flight - France - Eiffel Tower,
  • 1996 Kookaburra in Flight - Great Britain - Tower Bridge,
  • 1996 Kookaburra in Flight - Greece - Colossus of Rhodes,
  • 1996 Kookaburra in Flight - Belgium - Atomium,
  • 1997 Kookaburra & Chick - Finland - Elk,
  • 1997 Kookaburra & Chick - Portugal - Monument of the Discoveries,
  • 1997 Kookaburra & Chick - Italy - The Colosseum,
  • 1997 Kookaburra & Chick - Netherlands - Windmill,
  • 1997 Kookaburra & Chick - Denmark - The Little Mermaid,
  • 1998 Kookaburra on Fence - Ireland - Harp,
  • 1998 Kookaburra on Fence - Luxembourg - Schuman Building,
  • 1998 Kookaburra on Fence - Spain - Alhambra,
  • 1998 Kookaburra on Fence - Austria - St. Stephen's Cathedral, and
  • 1998 Kookaburra on Fence - Sweden - Delaware Ship.
    Mintage was limited to 5,000 of each coin. A separate black leatherette presentation case was released to house the entire collection.
