1995 - 97 $40 Palladium Emu Series

The Palladium Emu series consists of a thematic progression of three Proof $40 coins released by the Perth Mint over a three year period between 1995 and 1997.

The Perth Mint produced 750 specially designed, black leatherette typeset presentation cases (issued at $65 in August, 1997) to house the three coins in their original packaging.

The coins in the series are:
  • Emu with Eggs,
  • Emu with Chicks and
  • Two Emus.
  • While the maximum mintage in each year of issue was 2,500 coins, the number of complete sets is limited to the 750 official presentation cases.
