    Notes:

In 1945, the horror that was World War II finally ended. Fifty years later, this set takes the time to reflect on the sacrifices made by many Australians to keep the freedom of all Australian. The fighting was not just for territory and property, it was a struggle to protect essential humanitarian beliefs.

The concept of equality amongst all people - encapsulated by the Australian 'fair go' attitude - was a threat. To commemorate the courage of a nation, the Royal Australian Mint has focused on the sheer splendour of the human spirit.
