1995 - 1998 TEN DOLLAR ENDANGERED SPECIES of AUSTRALIA SERIES


The Endangered Species of Australia Series consisting of four Proof Silver Ten Dollar coins was released, one coin per year, by the Royal Australian Mint over the four years from 1995 to 1998.

The reverse designs of the coins issued depict:

  • 1995 Numbat,
  • 1996 Southern Right Whale,
  • 1997 Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo, and
  • 1998 Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat. Mintage was limited to 24,000 $10 coins in each of the four years that the series ran. The Canberra Mint issued a green leatherette presentation case to house the series.
