1994 - 96 Olympic Heritage Series


The Olympic Heritage series, consisting of six reverse frosted Specimen Silver Ten Dollar coins, were released in pairs by the Royal Australian Mint over a three year period between 1994 and 1996.

The coins in the series are:

Mintage in each year was limited to a maximum of 30,000 sets. The 1994 and 1996 issues were not fully subscribed, with total of 21,484 and 15,300 pairs respectively, being sold.

Notes:

The first pair of Olympic Heritage Ten Dollar coins, Edwin Flack/Sarah Durack, were accompanied by a plush green, hinged lid presentation case which provided storage capacity for the entire series of six coins. This first pair, with case, sold for $62 while the second and third pairs sold for $56 each.

Included with the case is a booklet entitled 'Australian Olympic Roll of Honour' which provides a complete list of every Australian Olympic Medallist between 1896 and 1994.
