1993 6 Coin 'Gumnut' Baby Mint Set

This mint set, the first of a now annual release in response to demand for a coin set which could be given as a gift upon the birth of a child, consists of Australia's six circulating coins:
  • Five Cents,
  • Ten Cents,
  • Twenty Cents,
  • Fifty Cents,
  • Landcare Water Conservation One Dollar and
  • Two Dollars. A total of 27,000 'Gumnut' baby mint sets were released in two versions, the six coins being housed, sealed in a fold-out see-both-sides, colourful presentation bubble pack and enclosed in a protective envelope.

Production of the first version was stopped after 16,000 sets when it was found to contain artwork not attributed to the 'Gumnut' creator May Gibbs. The wording on this set reads: 'A special gift for your new baby from the Royal Australian Mint.'
