1992 Royal Ladies Masterpieces in Silver

The 1992 Masterpieces in Silver set was issued by the Royal Australian Mint to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Accession of Queen Elizabeth II (1952 - 1992). The set consists of 4 Proof Sterling Silver (.925 Fine) Twenty Five Dollar coins portraying Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse of each with reverse portraits of:
  • the Queen Mother,
  • Princess Diana,
  • Princess Ann and
  • Princess Margaret.

A 45 mm diameter, 50.44 gram, plain edged Silver Medallion Royal with an obverse design depicting the Queen on the throne completes the set which had a total mintage of 11,611. The reverse design on the medallion links the issue of the set to the Commonwealth Games Federation. Fundraising to secure the future viability of the Games was the second purpose for the issue of the set.

The coins and Medallion Royal are displayed in a jewellery style, leather-look burgundy presentation case embellished with rich burgundy velvet.
