The Birds of Australia Series consisting of six Proof Silver Ten Dollar coins was released, one coin per year, by the Royal Australian Mint over the six years from 1989 to 1994.
The reverse designs of the 6 coins depict:
1989 Kookaburra,
1990 White Cockatoo,
1991 Jabiru,
1992 Emperor Penguin,
1993 Palm Cockatoo and
1994 Wedge Tailed Eagle.
The 1993 Palm Cockatoo coin, with the lowest mintages of the series - 23,172 - has determined the maximum number of available Birds of Australia sets.
