 
The Holey Dollar and dump series, consisting of three Proof Silver one ounce Holey Dollar coins and three Proof Silver quarter ounce Twenty Five Cent 'Dump' coins, were released in pairs by the Royal Australian Mint over a three year period between 1988 and 1990.

The 1990 Holey Dollar and Dump pair, with the lowest mintages of the series - 30,000 - have determined the maximum number of available sets. A special Hardcover Book was issued by the Royal Australian Mint to house the series. The book provides an insight into the Aboriginal dreamtime legends depicted on the designs of the coins and also outlines the history of silver mining in Australia.
