1969 6 Coin Proof Set

In 1967 and 1968, proof sets were not issued because of the absence of circulation 50 cent coins in those years. Finally, in 1969, the Royal Australian Mint resumed the practise started in 1966 of an annual release of Australia's circulating coins struck in proof form. The set consists of six coins:
  • One Cent,

  • Two Cents,

  • Five Cents,

  • Ten Cents,

  • Twenty Cents and

  • Fifty Cents. A total of 12,696 proof sets were released, the six coins being housed, sealed inside a see-both-sides hard plastic case.

    Notes:

Toning is often found on coins in 1969 proof sets, particularly on the bronze 1 and 2 cent pieces. This toning normally significantly reduces the value of the set as shown in the above table (aFDC).
