1997 Emergency Services $20 Note & 10 Stamp Gutter Strip Deluxe Portfolio |

Note Printing Australia and Australia Post jointly issued a Deluxe Portfolio in 1997 featuring an ES Prefix, Black Serials $20 polymer note and a specially produced gutter strip of 10 $1.20 postage stamps. The Portfolio pays tribute to Australia's Emergency Services. In particular, the Ambulance Service is featured on the gutter strip of stamps while the Royal Flying Doctor Service is recognised through the portrait of John Flynn, co-founder of the service, which appears on the reverse, overprinted side of the $20 note. A total of 2,000 Deluxe portfolio's were sold. The $20 note in the portfolio has the overprint and the serial number printed in black with a special serial prefix of ES (Emergency Services).
