1993 Eminent Women $10 Note & 25 Pane of Stamps Premium Portfolio

Note Printing Australia and Australia Post jointly issued their first Premium Portfolio in 1993 featuring an AP 93 Prefix, Red Serials $10 polymer note and a specially produced pane of 25 45c postage stamps.

The Portfolio pays tribute to three of Australia's most prominent women - Dame Mary Gilmore, who appears on the front of the new $10 polymer note, Dame Enid Lyons and Dorothy Tangney, the latter two being featured on the pane of stamps produced exclusively for the portfolio.

A total of 500 Premium portfolio's were sold. The $10 note in the portfolio has a serial number printed in red with the special prefix of AP (for Australia Post) and a number in the range 000001 to 000500.

Notes:

There are significant premiums on low numbered sets. The following table provides an estimate of the value of the first Premium Portfolio with serial number AP 000001 which raised $5,000 for charity when it was initially offered for sale .
