To celebrate the change in note signatories from Fraser/Evans to Macfarlane/Evans, Note Printing Australia issued 'Signatures' $5 Note Pairs in Premium Folders.
The notes in the set are:
-
1996 Fraser/Evans - FE 96 Prefix $5 Polymer, and
-
1996 Fraser/Macfarlane ME 96 Prefix $5 Polymer.
A total of 1,000 sets were offered for sale. The serial numbers were printed in red and the digits after the prefix on each note in the set were matched.

Notes:
A further 1,500 pairs in Deluxe Folders were released by Note Printing Australia. The digits after the serial number prefix of these notes ranged from 001001 to 002500.
There are significant premiums on low numbered sets. The following table provides an estimate of the value of the first $5 Premium Signatures Note Folder which raised $780 for charity when it was initially offered for sale .
