1996 First & Last $100 Note Set Embossed Deluxe Folder

To celebrate the release of the $100 polymer note for circulation, Note Printing Australia issued First & Last $100 Note Pairs in an Embossed Deluxe Folder. The polymer note in the set is overprinted with the date of issue - 1 May 1996 - and has brown serial numbers at the top and green serial numbers at the bottom in the range AA 96 001001 to 003000.

The notes in the set are:

1996 Fraser/Evans - Brown & Green Serials - 1 May 1996 Overprint $100 Polymer, and

1991-96 Fraser/Cole ZLD Last Prefix $100 Paper. A total of 2,000 sets were offered for sale.

Notes:

A further 900 $100 First & Last Sets were released by Note Printing Australia in 1996 in Premium Portfolio Folders with Red Serial Numbers.

3,000 individual polymer $100 notes with 1 May, 1996 overprint were released in Standard Souvenir Folders by Note Printing Australia. The serial numbers of these notes ranged from AB 96 003001 to 006000.
