Japanese Government World War II Invasion Notes

Notes.

In December, 1941, the bombing of Pearl Harbour signalled Japan's entry into World War II. Soon after, Japan invaded Hong Kong, Burma, Thailand, Malaya, Singapore, the Philippines and New Guinea. In each country, Japanese Government 'Invasion' notes were distributed in denominations used in those countries.

In May, 1942 the Battle of the Coral Sea took place. During the battle, the US and Australian navies destroyed a large troop convoy headed for Australia. On board were Japanese Invasion Notes meant for distribution in Australia. These notes now provide fascinating collectables of that turbulent time in world history.
