Notes:

To identify how quickly currency moved around Australia and to obtain benchmark figures on the life expectancy of circulating notes, the Reserve Bank released notes with a serial number prefix outside the normal sequence. In 1977, one dollar notes with the prefix DBP were released from single starting points in Perth and Tasmania. The DBP prefix was later used on Knight/Stone issues in 1979.

The unique, one millionth DBP prefix note was printed with a serial number of 000000.
