The serial number sequence for Coombs/Randall star replacement one dollar notes was from ZAH 17001* to ZAQ 10000*, excluding the prefixes ZAI, ZAO and ZAM. A total of 683,000 star notes were printed. The practice of replacing printer spoils with star notes was stopped in 1971.
