Notes:

The Sydney Deposit Bank was established in Sydney in 1885 as a land banking company. A note issue was undertaken to obtain funds from an unsuspecting public. The firm, a partnership, failed in 1892 when one of the partners, general manager T S Richardson, died and the estate was served with sequestration orders.
