Notes:

In a continuation of the practice begun in 1994, Note Printing Australia issued notes with the early serial numbers for the year to the collector market in specially prepared folders.

The first batch of 900 notes from AA 96 000101 to AA 96 001000 were printed with red serial numbers and issued in a Premium Folder. The second batch of 8,000 notes with serial numbers from AA 96 001001 to AA 96 009000 were printed with black serial numbers and distributed in a 'Deluxe' Folder.

While each 1996 $5 Deluxe Folder was released individually, collectors were given the opportunity to acquire one of each of the four 1996 deluxe collector folders - $5, $10, $20 and $50 - with matching serial numbers. The number of matching sets was limited to 4,000 - the number of $50 Deluxe Folders issued - with serial numbers between AA 96 1001 and AA 96 005000.

The 1996 Fraser/Evans $5 Polymer note with Black serials was also included in 2 uncut sheet issues - 2,200 Blocks of 4 and a further 2,200 Pairs.
