Notes:

In 1994, Note Printing Australia began the practice of incorporating the year of manufacture as part of the serial number - the two digits following the first two letters in the prefix. For the collector market, the first serial numbers each year are issued in specially prepared folders.

The success of the polymer note program in improving the longevity of notes released into circulation meant that there was no need to print $5 notes for circulation in 1994. As a consequence, 1994 $5 notes can be obtained only from collector issues.

The first batch of 900 notes from AA 94 000101 to AA 94 001000 were printed with red serial numbers and issued in Premium Folder. The second batch of notes - 9,000 notes with serial numbers from AA 94 001001 to AA 94 010000 were printed with black serial numbers and distributed in what was called a 'Deluxe' Folder.

While each 1994 $5 Deluxe Folder was released individually, collectors were given the opportunity to acquire one of each of the 1994 deluxe collector folders - $5 and $10 - with matching serial numbers.
