Notes:

This note was the first Australian polymer banknote. It was issued to commemorate the 200th anniversary of European settlement, marked by the landing of the first fleet at Sydney Cove on 26 January, 1788. This special issue, overprinted in blue with the date 26 January 1988, was distributed in a colourful presentation folder. A total of 80,000 folders were released.
25,000 notes were included in 3 coin - 3 note bicentenary portfolio albums issued jointly by the Australian Mint and Note Printing Australia.

The note was also included in 4 uncut sheet issues - 500 Full Sheets of 24, 1,000 Half Sheets of 12, 1,500 Blocks of 4, and 1,500 Strips of 4.

In 1998, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release of this $10 polymer note, Note Printing Australia included it in two commemorative sets - 1,000 in Premium Pairs accompanied by a red serial numbered 1998 $10 polymer note, and 1,500 in Deluxe Pairs accompanied by a black serial numbered 1998 $10 polymer note.
