Half sovereigns were struck in Britain and at various British colonial mints. Coins with no mintmark are British issues. Apart from the 'S' (Sydney), 'M' (Melbourne) and 'P' (Perth) mintmarks of Australian issues detailed here, half sovereigns were issued by the the Pretoria Mint in South Africa ('SA').
