Notes:
A die error variety of the 1858 Sydney Mint half sovereign exists. The error is the result of an incorrectly cut die where the first 'E' in the word 'SOVEREIGN' on the reverse looks like an underlined 'R'. The error variety was discovered only recently (Australian Coin Review, December 1994) with four examples found so far.Valuation History (Error variety):
