Notes:

The proof version of this coin was the last proof collector coin struck by the Melbourne Mint. The one hundred proofs were offered to collectors at 1s ½d each. The Mint's attention was redirected to circulation coinage with the outbreak of Warld War II. It is believed that at least half of the proofs remained unsold and were melted down.

In 1999, the Canberra mint released a .999 Silver Five Cents frosted proof coin with a reverse design of the 1939 Halfpenny as part of a six coin Masterpieces in Silver set.
