Notes:

This coin was issued on May 9, 1927 to commemorate the opening of Parliament House as the seat of Government in Australia. Of the 400 proof coins issued to collectors, it is thought that less than half survive today.

In 1997, the design on the reverse of the coin was incorporated in a 1 oz. proof silver dollar issued to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the opening of the building. It was also used as a privy mark on a 1995 2oz silver bullion coin.

In 1998, the Canberra mint released a .999 Silver Florin/Twenty Cents frosted proof coin with a reverse design struck from a modified die used for the production of the 1927 Parliament House florin reverse.
