This coin was struck to commemorate the centenary of the historic achievement of South Australian suffragists (notably the eminent South Australian suffragist, Mary Lee) to gain women the freedom to vote and the right to stand for public office.

| The coin was sold through the Royal Australian Mint mailing list and selected numismatic dealers. It was distributed, encapsulated, in a square blue leatherette, hinged lid case protected by a special presentation box. At the NAA Coin Fair held in Perth during August 1994, a specially packaged limited edition issue of 2,500 coins were sold. Valuation details of this issue are shown in the following table: |  |
