A-268 Obverse: Thistle flower with 2 leaves, 10 & 12 BOURKE St EAST in 3 straight lines below and J. HOSIE round, above, all within a plain inner circle. THE SCOTCH PIE SHOP above and : MELBOURNE : below, between inner circle and beaded rim.
Reverse: Stokes Australian Arms (A-12) - shield with kangaroo to left and emu to right as supporters. VICTORIA 1862 above inside beaded rim. T. STOKES. MAKER 100 COLLINS ST. EAST MELBOURNE in 2 lines of small letters below. Kangaroo's head is partly under the base of the T in VICTORIA and the centre top sunray points to the base of the second I in VICTORIA. ADVANCE AUSTRALIA on the scroll.
