Known Varieties & Errors (References are to Andrews):

A-220 Obverse: Shield of Arms with Swan for crest, Kangaroo at left and Emu at right as supporters. JOHN HENDERSON above and PAWNBROKER below, round within beaded rim. STOKES & MARTIN at left and MELBOURNE at right in small letters. Head of kangaroo is below N of JOHN.
Reverse: Building in center with ONE PENNY TOKEN in 2 straight lines below. PACKENHAM STREET above and FREEMANTLE . W. A. below, round within beaded rim.
A-221 Obverse & Reverse: As for A-220 but token is made of lighter metal.
A-222 Obverse: As for A-220 but head of Kangaroo is beside N of JOHN and Emu's neck is bent backwards. STOKES & MARTIN MELBOURNE below scroll in small letters
Reverse: As for A-220.
A-223 Obverse: As for A-222 but head of Kangaroo is higher than N of JOHN and Emu's neck is straight..
Reverse: As for A-220.
A-224 Obverse: As for A-223.
Reverse: As for A-223 but ONE PENNY TOKEN is incuse and retrograde above building, just below PACKENHAM STREET (rare).
