Known Varieties & Errors (References are to Andrews):

A-216 Obverse: Shield of Arms with Swan for crest, Kangaroo at left and Emu at right as supporters. JOHN HENDERSON above and PAWNBROKER below, round within beaded rim. STOKES & MARTIN at left and MELBOURNE at right in small letters. Head of kangaroo is below N of JOHN.
Reverse: Building in center with ONE PENNY TOKEN round, above and 1874 in a straight line below, all within a plain inner circle. PACKENHAM STREET above and FREEMANTLE . W. A. below, round between inner circle and beaded rim. N of TOKEN rests on roof of building. A light impression of an erased F before FREEMANTLE remains.
A-217 Obverse & Reverse: As for A-216 but token is made of lighter metal.
A-218 Obverse: As for A-216.
Reverse: As for A-216 but ONE PENNY TOKEN is compressed so that there is a gap between the N of TOKEN and the roof of the building.
A-219 Obverse & Reverse: As for A-218 but token is made of lighter metal.
