This coin was included as part of an 8 coin proof set and an 8 coin mint set released by the Canberra mint.The Royal Australian Mint also struck 22,500 individual specimen aluminium bronze 1991 dollar coins on a 'mint your own' press. The coins were inserted in a wallet showing the Mint building and sold for $2. The value of this first of the 'Mint Your Own' special issues is shown below:
