 | The specimen coin has a 'reverse frosting' finish where the field is frosted to contrast with the highly polished raised design. It was distributed encapsulated and mounted on a colourful see-both-sides cardboard card protected by a plastic sleeve. |  |
 | In a repeat of the previous year, a proof version of the one ounce silver skippy dollar coin was also released. The proof has frosted designs with mirror fields. Unlike the previous year, the Canberra Mint issued the encapsulated proof coin in an official plush green velvet hinged-lid case, protected by a colourful presentation box. |  |
