Notes:
The 1996 two ounce Ducat Privy Kookaburra in Flight $2 silver coin was released at the NAA Adelaide Coin Fair in May, 1996. The coin carries a gold inlay privy mark which represents the design of a Dutch Ducat, a gold coin struck by all seven Dutch provinces between 1600 and the end of the 18th century. The coin's origins date back to Venice in the 1200's. Struck in vast numbers, the Ducat was accepted internationally as a trade coin. In his Proclamation of 1800, Governor King gave the coin a value of nine shillings and sixpence. The coin is part of a 4 coin privy mark set released by the Perth Mint at various coin shows throughout 1996.
